In July this year, the musical directing team were able to travel to Auckland NZ to participate in the Sweet Adelines International A cappella Harmony Academy (AHA).
We were delighted to have been succesful in our grant application from the City of Onkaparinga Community Training and Development for funds to support the cost of registration and contributions towards the travel/accommodation costs.  As a volunteer organisation, the contribution that individuals already committ to for futher education is assisted greatly when grant monies are sourced.

The aim of AHA was to challenge members to build a stronger performance, to take their vocal and performance skills to the next level. AHA is the “spark” that dares people to step up their a cappella game – to rise to the top!

The directing team attended major sessions as well as elective workshops and covered many elements of what makes a successful Performance package; developed our skills in building an artistic sound using breath, resonance and chord ring as well as hearing from the current International Quartet Gold Medalists - Speed of Sound.
We were also treated to a great line up of educators who willingly shared their skills with the attendees from Australia, New Zealand, UK & USA.

Thank you City of Onkaparinga for supporting us as we seek to develop our performance skills and represent this area as we sing using our new skills.
